Teen actor Paul Salas was part of the panel of judges that chose the very first winner of “King Julien’s Dance Off,” the anniversary program of City of Dream’s interactive play space, DreamPlay.
The 18-year-old actor and commercial model joined notable choreographer Douglas Nierras, City of Dreams Manila’s VP for PR Charisse Chuidian and City of Dreams Manila’s SVP for Non-Gaming Jarlath Lynch at the judges’ table.
Salas also endeared himself with the audience when he performed a Justin Bieber number and went around the venue and let his fans take a few snaps with him.
After his performance, the teen star helped in announcing the winner to the dance off, which was participated by a total of seven finalists comprised of children’s dance groups competed for over P100K worth of prizes.
In a quick interview with Manila Standard after the event, Salas said that he’s very passionate about singing and dancing. Inspired by his father, Jim Salas (a former member of Universal Motion Dancers), the young actor strives to hone his skills so that in the future, people will know him not just an actor but also as a concert performer.
“I want to be an all-around performer. Dancing is my first love but I’m trying to be better at singing. So, I can realize my dream to become a recording artist. We’re actually planning to come up with an album,” Salas said in vernacular.
