VALENTINE’S Day is celebrated in numerous ways we could think of. Some prepare for the traditional candlelight dinner, a few exert effort in trying to be as creative as possible and there are people who think of far more important things than showing their romantic side.
But how do our favorite love-struck celebrities celebrate the V-Day? That of course, is always an interesting thing to know.
Some celebrities went out of town like newly-weds Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes. Definitely still in honeymoon mode, the couple went to El Nido, Palawan and shared a few photos of their romantic trip on Instagram.
Also on Instagram, Iya Villana and Drew Arellano shared their PDA pictures in Batanes, the place where they originally wanted to get married. The two were seen cuddling with the clear sky and dark blue sea as their backdrop.
Ogie Alcasid and Aga Muhlach, on the other hand, both went the traditional way by saying it with flowers. They surprised their wives Regine Velasquez and Charlene Gonzales each with a bouquet of fresh blooms.
Television love teams also rode the bandwagon, perhaps to please the fans that were waiting what romantic moves their idols would do.
Take for example Xiam Lim who gathered all the romantic must-haves to ask Kim Chiu to be his Valentine. That includes flowers and an entire ceiling of heart-shaped balloons. Meanwhile, Kapuso talent Ruru Madrid made an effort by visiting his onscreen partner Gabby Garcia to hand her some flowers and a stuff toy.
But if effort is our benchmark in gauging these celebrities’ creativity, no one would beat Michelle Liggayu who organized a flash mob in Eastwood as a gift to her ailing fiancé, Jam Sebastian. Jam saw the choreographed performance via Skype while in his hospital bed.
There are some who prefer to engage in activities they enjoy like Charice and girlfriend Alyssa Quijano. The two marked the 14th by spending the whole day chilling at home and playing video games.
And talking about simplicity, action star Robin Padilla and wife Mariel Rodriguez really had it their way by giving “love on Valentine’s Day” a brand new meaning.
The couple spent their Valentine’s Day in Mamasapano, Maguindanao. This may not be an idyllic location for any romantic getaway but the couple did something more important than pleasing the cameras for some public display of affection.
Robin and Mariel were on a mission by spearheading an outreach program for the displaced and affected families of the bloody encounter between the MILF and SAF.
More importantly, since Valentine’s Day is clearly about the celebration of love and relationship, it also the best day to get married to announce to the whole world how you truly love your other half. This holds true to some famous personalities who exchanged weddings vows on the most romantic date of the year.
Chiz Escudero and Heart Evangelista tied the knot in Balesin Island Club in Quezon province on Feb. 15. The much-anticipated and much talked about nuptials was attended by a few celebrities and some close friends of the couple.
Showbiz reporter Chesca Litton and businessman Tyke Kalaw, who initially planned to have their wedding at the exclusive resort club in Quezon, managed to do it on Eskaya Beach Resort in Bohol exactly on Valentine’s Day. And finally, rock musicians Yeng Contantino and Yan Asuncion tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Tagaytay City.
Love is in the air, indeed!
