Fans were surprised when Iya Villania returned to GMA Network 10 years after being a solid Kapamilya.
“It’s going to be a huge change, but I guess change is the only permanent thing in this world. And it’s always nice to make new friends. That’s what I’m looking forward to,” Iya expressed when asked about her loyalty change.
The 28-year-old actress-host joined the newly reformatted Sunday All Stars last Sunday where she had a grand welcome via a special production number. Soon, she will appear in a new drama as part of her initial assignments from her new mother studio.
While Iya became a new addition to the musical variety show, RnB singer JayR has been ranting on his Twitter account following his removal from Sunday All Stars. Since last month, JayR has been seen performing on ASAP 19 with Charice and has been very visible in other Kapamilya programs.
JayR did not have any clue why he was removed from the Sunday musical variety show. All he knew was the show needed fresh faces and new talents that would salvage the show’s dwindling ratings.
Meanwhile, another Sunday All Star mainstay is currently rumored of transferring to a rival network. RnB singer Kyla has made a few appearances in ABS-CBN programs in the past months. There have also been speculations that Kyla was supposed to be a guest judge in It’s Showtime but it didn’t materialize. Persistent rumor suggests that Kyla is no longer happy with her current network. Fans of the singer even expressed their sentiments on how the Kapuso network treats their idol.
This one though is no rumor, though everything had been heard first through the grapevine, the ‘90s tandem of Jolina Magdangal and Marvin Agustin will be revived via ABS-CBN’s drama series Flordeliza.
Days after Marvin announced that he will join the cast of the series, Jolina, on Monday, reported to her first shooting day for Flordeliza, confirming weeks of speculation that she will reunite with her former love team. They were last seen together in ABS-CBN in 2002 via Kung Ikaw Ay Isang Panaginip, a romantic comedy produced by Star Cinema.
Also last week, Maxene Magalona was warmly welcomed on ABS-CBN as an exclusive contract talent. For her first project as a Kapamilya artist is to be part of the network’s upcoming primetime soap entitled Dream Dad, which also stars Zanjoe Marudo.
The budding character actress filed for the rescission of her exclusive contract with GMA Network and without thinking twice, the media company let the former Ang TV talent go.
While Maxene had a smooth transfer, Aljur Abrenica, who has the same request as Maxene, is still having a difficult time. The network probably feels that they have already invested too much on Aljur’s career. He’s clearly an asset to the network that’s why it’s challenging for them to let him leave just like that.
We heard that the former Machete star is considering settling the dispute between him and the network. Sure he realized the financial blow of this contract brouhaha as he’s left with no job. This means we wouldn’t see Aljur going over the bakod just yet.
