The launch of Smart-Deezer partnership on July 9 was an event filled with music, great songs and awesome bands. Rico Blanco set the stage ablaze performing some of his hits. Established music acts Pupil and Urbandub were also there to fire up the event.

The launch was one of those events when you discover interesting music acts that you think deserve a place on mainstream music scene. Case in point, The Ransom Collective, a 6 piece indie folk band comprised of Kian Ransom, Redd Claudio, Jerms Peck, Leah Halili, Lily Gonzales, and Muriel Gonzales, stole the show from the main performers amid being a virtually unknown act.

During the event, the band showcased its sound that combines unique percussive patterns, acoustic guitar driven leads, and full band vocal swells. In fact, the band was the best act of the night.

The group began in August of 2013 with no intention of being a band. Originally they began practicing together for a one time feature with an indie music promoter, but they’re chemistry and sound gained fit so well that they invited to several small bar gigs.
