LUIS Manzano confirmed that he and Angel Locsin are back in each other’s arms. In an interview with Boy Abunda on Sunday, the Kapamilya host beamed, “I’m proudly her boyfriend.”
After almost three years without any communication, Luis and Angel have finally reconciled and even took things further by reviving their aborted affair. According to the Minute To Win It host, it all started with an exchange of text messages a few days after Christmas.
“I don’t even think that I got to greet her but I was able to greet her family,” Luis narrated,” A few days after Christmas, that’s when we started texting again. Very simple lang. Greeting lang. New Year, pumunta ako sa bahay nila.”
The pair first parted ways in 2009 due to conflicting schedule and some unresolved issues, then they both entered into high profile relationships: Angel became a supportive girlfriend to football player Phil Younghusband; and Luis defied network war when he pursued Kapuso star Jennylyn Mercado.
In a seemingly perfect coincidence, their respective affairs also ended in October 2013. Hence, when Angel publicly confessed her love for Luis in January, people were quick to judge that she’s the reason behind the Luis and Jennylyn break-up. Since then, Angel continued making headlines but tightlipped on the real score between the two of them. She turned to social media posting undeniably romantic photos of her and Luis, which made people speculate they’re playing good music yet again.
To clear Angel’s name though, Luis affirmed that she’s not the cause of his failed relationship with the Kapuso star. Without going into detail, the 32-year-old actor-host blurted: “Jen and I know the real reason why we broke up, our families know, our friends know, and we are definitely sure that it’s not Angel.”
In about the same time when rumors came out about their rekindled romance, rumors about their plan to tie the knot this year also surfaced. However, Luis cleared the cobwebs. No wedding bells this year, no in 2015 either.
It’s love month, indeed
In speaking of wedding bells, February seems to be the perfect timing for celebrities to make the whole world know that not all showbiz affairs head to splitsville.
We have witnessed the exchanging vows of Iya Villania and Drew Arellano in a rather romantic milestone. The pair was in a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship for 10 years before deciding to tie the knot. The wedding was not a fan fare too because it had been tightly kept under wraps. The public only knew about it when thrilled guests took their excitement to social media to share photos of the newly wed.
Also bitten by the love bug, Karylle made a special announcement on It’s Showtime early this month. The singer said she and Spongecola lead Yael Yuzon, her boyfriend for two years now, are getting married in March. It was a surprising announcement coming from a person who has kept her romantic life with Yael very private. We thought they would keep it a top secret like what Iya and Drew did.
Meanwhile, not to be upstaged by other lovebirds, Heart Evangelista also hinted that she may get married this year to Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero. Though this might cause an even wider gap between her and her parents, Heart seems to be truly following the desires of her heart.
In an interview that Heart did on Startalk two Sundays ago, where Escudero was also a surprise guest, the Kapuso star was asked whether 2014 would likely be the last year she is single. The actress confidently said—it is!
