SPECULATIONS have been circulating in recent days that Kris Aquino could be mulling a transfer from ABS-CBN, her home studio for 17 years now, to either GMA Network or TV5.
Rumor has it that she is being tapped for a key position at both studios.
Two Sundays ago, Kris and her two children left for London for vacation. She told her fans that they would be out of the country for almost two weeks. As soon as their plane took off, rumors spread that TV5 Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan has already offered Kris to join the Novaliches-based network and that they have already discussed the matter in one of their meetings.
On the subject of Kris’s supposed transfer to GMA-7, ABS-CBN News quoted a report that Pangilinan supposedly plans to buy 40 percent of GMA Network’s shares hence wooing Kris to hold a top level executive position.
The speculations were fanned further after Kris posted a vague message on Instagram that she’s asking for guidance and wisdom. Thereafter, she posted another message, purportedly an answer to all those who have been asking her about the issue, that she’s considering two things: most beneficial for her two sons; and what her audience wants.
This Monday, the 42-year-old television host posted another photo of her and her two children. Caption says, “Psssttt: no decision has been made, negotiations are ongoing.”
The latest post sends a strong message that Kris is indeed contemplating whether or not to make a big career move. It also confirms that a negotiation is in place. Now, the big question is: Is she going to be a Kapuso or a Kapatid, or will she remain a Kapamilya?
If her main concern is indeed the welfare of her children, a mother who has worked so hard to make sure that just in case she loses her job the next day her children would still be able to live, staying in her mother network is a wise decision. Holding a key position in a TV network means less time for Bimby and Joshua, and that contradicts her desire to give what is beneficial to her children.
In recent development, Kris has renewed contract with the Kapamilya network.
Kris also said she never met with any GMA-7 officials, but is grateful to them for the coverage they gave to “My Little Bossings,” the movie her son Bimby starred in with Vic Sotto and Ryzza Mae Dizon. She also said she met with Manny Pangilinan, the owner of TV5 last October and December, but she never committed to anything.
