The local version of Thalia’s popular soap is definitely on fire scoring impressive ratings on its first week. The pilot episode won on its timeslot with ratings more than double compared to its rival. Consider this, the lead star (Jessy Mendiola) hasn’t showed up yet as a grown up Maria Mercedes. While it excites the viewers, the winning streak continues everyday on Twitter and other social networking sites.

 

Julie Anne San Jose

It’s official. The teen singer is now the most successful talent GMA Records has ever produced. Her debut album has already been certified by PARI as Platinum five times for selling more than 75,000 units. We’re just a bit nosy though. She has sold thousands of records and yet we can’t still recall any of her best-selling singles.

 

Dingdong Dantes

The 33-year-old actor is one busy man. Dingdong is currently promoting a drama series on GMA-7. The series talks about the end of the world and is said to be a big budget project. At the same time, he shuttles between the Kapuso Network and the Kapamilya channel (being the only Kapuso actor to do so without creating any intrigue) to promote She’s the One, his third movie produced by Star Cinema, with Bea Alonzo.

Bella Padilla

The starlet is obviously missing in action. According to the grapevine, the Kapuso star has become a headache to the network bigwigs. Her projects are shelved until further notice or until they find a better talent fit for the role. The juicy part is, after she was cast as a lead star, Bella has refused to take support roles unless they play a significant part in the story. Has fame gone to her head too quickly?

 

Ogie Alcasid

We heard that his upcoming show on TV5 has been pushed to a later date to give way for the airing of the PBA Finals. Since he cut his ties with GMA-7, the so-called singer-songwriter has not been seen on a regular show in his new mother network. So look who’s laughing now? Most definitely, it’s not Ogie.

 

Momzilla

Is earning less than P50 million at the tills already spells disappointment? For a film co-produced by Star Cinema and Viva Films, and directed by Wenn V. Deramas, the answer is a big yes! They might call it a slight miss but basing on the film reviews, the opportunity lies on the cast itself. Maricel Soriano and Eugene Domingo might feel comfortable working together but moviegoers, who pay for movie tickets, felt otherwise.
