Kim Chiu and Xian Lim: From small to the big screen

From Ina, Kapatid, Anak, the Kapamilya Network took the love team of Kim Chiu and Xian Lim to the big screen via Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo, a ‘self-help’ comedy flick about the lives of brainy ‘ugly duckling’ played by Kim.

Many anticipated the success of the movie since apart from it is included in the roster of Star Cinema’s anniversary offering, the series that launched Kim and Xian’s tandem has produced a solid fan base for both stars making it easy for the Star Cinema to sell the movie.

True enough, the movie that is based on a comic novel of the same title, opened in cinemas on July 31 with a bang. Five days at the box office it already sold P51.7 million worth of movie tickets. To date, the romantic comedy flick can now be considered a certified box office hit after it breached the P100-million mark in terms of gross revenues.

More than the strong performance of the film, fans are more into the real score between the two stars. Many are asking if they are already playing good music together. Recent photos of them vacationing in Paris showed that they had spent a quality time.

Though it might break the hearts of their rabid fans, Xian enthused that they’re not in any kind of romantic relationship as they both prioritize work.

Even Kim doesn’t give any clear answer whenever she’s asked about Xian (like other showbiz personalities do). However, both of them are vocal how special they are to one another. You see, this whole publicity scheme works effectively; from television, it is now making big money at the tills.
