The trophies keep rolling in for Angel Locsin who scored another best actress plum last Saturday at the 31st Film Academy of the Philippines Luna Awards.
Unfortunately the 28-year-old couldn’t be there to accept her award in person as she’s busy working on a new film that is set to premiere this month. Once again, Angel has been vindicated by this recognition after she was snubbed of a Best Actress nomination at the 2013 Enpress Golden Screen Awards early this year.
This recent victory is Angel’s fourth Best Actress award for the Star Cinema drama and 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival entry, One More Try. Prior to the Luna trophy, the Kapamilya star received the same award for the same movie from the Philippine Movie Press Club, Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences and the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation.
True enough, Angel is the most decorated film star this year and it is admirable of her that she does not take all the credits for being one. In a recent interview, Angel said that she owes it to ABS-CBN’s production arm that continuously gives her the opportunity to work with brilliant directors and actors. She also related that in the last two years, her film assignments have motivated her to showcase her acting skill.
