She wowed the crowd at Pacquiao-Bradley fight for singing the Philippine National anthem, but who is Kirby Asunto?
Nothing much is written about the New Jersey-based teen singer. But for a short info, 14-year-old Kirby, who recently signed a contract under Pacquiao’s talent management agency, is a rising Broadway artist.
Kirby became the Philippine Fiesta Grand Idol Signing Champion in Secaucus, NJ. That began her invitations to numerous Filipino American Community Fundraisers in the NY, NJ, CT, and DC area. Kirby enjoys performing pro bono at fundraisers to give back to her community not only here in America but to benefit her fellow Filipinos in the Philippines as well. Kirby has a big heart even at a tender age.
She was in the Final three of the NY Knick Kidzbop Sports Talent Jam at MSG in NYC. Last October 2011, Kirby had a chance to perform at the Twenty Outstanding Filipinos in New York(TOFA) event held at Carnegie Hall. Just this past November 2011, Kirby was invited to sing by Manny Pacquaio for his offering mass before his fight and his victory concert as headliner. Kirby sang the Philippine national anthem for the Manny Pacquiao fight on June 9, 2012 at MGM Las Vegas. Last April 20, 2012 she held a concert with Arnel Pineda, the lead singer of Journey band. Kirby’s wish is if she succeeds in signing, she will give back to the community by opening up a signing/musical school for talented kids. Her dreams is not only to be a professional singer but to give back to kids like herself who would like to pursue their dreams of singing.
