Walt Disney has chosen the Broadway star as one of the 12 Disney legends who will be given a two-foot-tall bronze sculpture in a special ceremony last Saturday. Apart from the distinction, Lea will also have her handprint displayed in Disney Legends Plaza at Walt Disney’s headquarters in Burbank, California.The 40-year-old star is honored for lending her voice for two Disney Princesses (Jasmine in Aladdin in 1992, and Fa Mulan in Mulan in 1998 and 2004). It’s really a high time for Lea who has been bidding for international stardom since the ’90s. Recently, she released a live album, which topped the jazz category of the US iTunes chart straight off.

That’s why it’s not surprising when Edgar appealed to major stations to give him a big break during his acceptance speech for the best actor recognition in the recently-concluded Cinemalaya Indie Film Festival. It appears that his plea didn’t fall on deaf ears as Regal Films has decided to distribute the indie movie Ligo na U Lapit na Me nationwide. That’s not all, Regal matriarch Mother Lily Monteverde was so impressed with Edgar’s performance in the said indie film that she signed the young actor to an exclusive multi-picture deal.Wow, it pays to be patient and consistently dedicated to your craft.

Thereafter, online searches for his name surged. And to validate his sudden fame, Charice has invited him to join her in a Manila concert before the year ends.
