Philippine Dragon
Now we have a sporting team that does not need all the hype to get noticed because the team works hard and even goes an extra mile. With five gold and two silver medals (in 7 events) and shattering the world record in the 1,000-meter race event, the Philippine Dragon gives the other overhyped national teams the reason to feel insecure. The team, whose members are enlisted in the Philippine Army, actually doesn’t get enough support from the government (the team’s airfare to Florida, USA, where competition was held, was paid for by some generous private individuals). So why go for athletes who have pretty faces but can’t actually deliver?
Mario Maurer
The Thai heartthrob is Manila bound for a photo shoot and a possible movie with Star Cinema. Mario, who is of Chinese and German descent, is a big star in Thailand after starring in strings of blockbuster movies like Love of Siam (an acclaimed gay themed film) and A Crazy Little Thing Called Love, which was well received in its Philippine television premiere. Mario’s sudden fame in the country is a testament that Thailand is successful in making their stars marketable abroad. You see, Mario secured a project which should been offered to a local star.
Kim Chiu
A lot of people have been asking if the young actress went under a knife to enhance her body, but of course, no person in local showbiz would ever admit that he or she had any cosmetic procedures so we don’t expect Kim to clear the cobwebs on the issue. Anyway, whether or not Kim had any surgery, it’s noticeable that she looks better nowadays. And as the teaser to her upcoming series called My Binondo Girls is being shown almost after every hour, more fans are becoming more impatient as they want to see their idol back again on the small screen.
