No matter how you label your music or even if other people consider your sound as just a kind of noise, there’s a platform especially created to help you and your music be appreciated. And if you want your name to be put side by side Pepe Smith, Slapshock, Juan dela Cruz Band, Greyhoundz, Kjwan, Wilabaliw, and Mayonnaise, then there’s a nationwide band competition that is designed right just for you.
Now on its 13th year, Red Horse Pambansang Muziklaban Rock Challenge has opened its doors again to aspiring local bands in the country.
From being just a band search in its formative years, Muziklaban has evolved into a grand rock music event where “rakistas” have the opportunity to meet their rock icons, mingle with other rock aficionados while enjoying an overflowing supply of beer from the event sponsor, and of course have the rare chance to perform live onstage in front of a big audience, not to mention that a recording contract and big prize awaits the winner.
Muziklaban maintains its tradition of bringing this iconic musical event to a whole new level. In 2009, extreme sports and tattoo art were including in the long list of the event’s itinerary. And this year is no exception, Extreme Sports icon Armand Mariano, Tattoo Master Ricky Sta. Ana, and the world’s number one pound-for-pound boxer, Manny Pacquiao, will be joining forces for Muziklaban.
For interested amateur rock groups entry forms are now available at http://www.redhorsebeer.com and entries could be submitted via Facebook or YouTube, through the Red Horse Beer website, or through San Miguel Brewery sales offices and Events Circuit offices nationwide. Bands can also join by participating in the nationwide studio auditions. Deadline of submission for entries is on Sept 15.
