People…are talking about
Jewel Mische
Her appearance on Maalaala Mo Kaya last Saturday re-affirms her status as one of the stars to watch out for this year. Her career, which was frozen when she’s still with GMA-7, suddenly became splendid. It’s so alive that she can even sing A Whole New World with gusto. Now that her revitalized career sees a better future and a solid direction, can she also find love among the bachelors in the Kapamilya Network?
John Lloyd Cruz
Don’t be surprised if he’ll be given the Box Office King title again this year. Lloydie’s films My Amnesia Girl (with Toni Gonzaga) and Miss You Like Crazy (with Bea Alonzo) were the highest-grossing local films of 2010 earning P144.8 M and P143.25 M, respectively. Did we say before that he’s the only actor of his generation that can attract moviegoers to visit the multiplexes to watch local movies? What can the supporters of Piolo Pascual, Dingdong Dantes, or Richard Gutierrez say about this remarkable feat?
Melai Cantiveros
It’s not the rift between her and DJ and TV host Mr. Fu why she’s the talk of the town today. Well, have you seen the cover of Mega Magazine this month? Melai simply looked classy. That’s how ABS-CBN builds up its stars, although they are generally for the masa, they can look sophisticated by appearing on the cover of glossy magazines. Let’s not just mention that Kapuso stars are contented being featured on the cover of tabloids.

Sabel
Its ratings is relatively good considering the lead stars in this afternoon series are virtually unknown. So why does it have to strew pathetic publicities like Jessy Mendiola was caught inside Diether Ocampo’s car, when in fact they’re just shooting a scene together? What is more miserable about Sabel is the way it handles sensitive issues like religion and love affairs. It’s good to explore those kinds of subjects but to actually confine viewers in parochial mentality is down right irresponsible. Where in the Philippines, at present time, can you see people believing that a family or a person can bring plague in an entire community?
Marian Rivera
According to a psychic she and beau Dingdong Dantes will head to splitville halfway this year. Well, that’s expected among showbiz personalities anyway. What is not expected from them is being notoriously aloof among co-actors. Marian has a reputation of treating people around her unfairly, she is reported yelling at and ignoring fans, bashing a beauty queen and a younger co-actor, and recently snubbing a TV host. Indeed Marian’s own enemy is herself that’s why it’s not surprising that SM Residences dropped her like a hot potato to get the service of an endorser far classy than her.
Mark Bautista
To make a noise, try mentioning you’re co-talents name as an inspiration to your current project. Perhaps you can also use the name of Sarah Geronimo so people would talk about you. That’s the power of Sarah and her legion of fans. And that’s exactly what Mark is doing now. The former ASAP mainstay said that Iza Calzado is the inspiration of a song he composed and recently he expressed his concern to Sarah regarding her rift with Cristine Reyes. Sorry Mark, they don’t work at all. Try a different way to add luster in your languid star.
