His Jose Marie Chan tribute album enjoys warm reception from music enthusiasts like the albums of Richard Poon and Sarah Geronimo (hers is 3x platinum). Amid the record’s success here and abroad, Christian plans to explore other genres that he could incorporate in a follow up album. Not everyone became successful in testing a new formula but his brave intention will make him different from our singers who are generally cover artists.

According to the grapevine, SM Residences dropped Marian due to the negative publicity surrounding the Kapuso actress, apart from the questionable behavior and character Marian portrays publicly, which alarmed the bigwigs in SM property arm.

Kapuso station is gearing up for an explosive pilot episode of the series topbilled by Richard Gutierrez. Apart from the new costume to be donned by Richard, and the six leading ladies to spice up the story, the series is set top make television history. The first episode of Captain Barbell’s latest version will use the latest technology available for television production and will be in 3D. If only most Kapuso aficionados’ television sets are in HD, they would greatly appreciate this advancement.

Did she? This is a short but an intriguing question that drags Claudine’s name. Rumor has it that the Kapuso star was rushed to Medical City due to ecstasy overdose. Tabloids have reported that a nurse from the hospital identified her as the one admitted due to mental disorder as well. We all know that she uses her Twitter account to defend herself in every issue thrown at her but interestingly, Claudine has been silent on the microblogging site for a month now. Poor Claudine! We hope these are all nasty rumors and no more.

Studio 5’s first venture into filmmaking is already marked with controversy. After the MMFF Gabi ng Parangal, people were questioning Dolphy’s winning of the best supporting trophy though he only appeared in the movie for a couple of minutes. A lot of people who have seen the screening of all the film entries rooted for Rosario as Best Picture. But got dismayed when MMFF board of juror gave the award instead to Ang Tanging Ina. Since Rosario is one of the two graded A films in the filmfest, the producers of the film lambasted the decision of the award giving body. Why can’t they just move on accept the fact that in every competition, there are winners and losers?

TV Patrol

When Korina Sanchez and Noli De Castro went back on anchoring the news program, we thought big changes will happen. The truth is, something big indeed happened to the program because since the return of Sanchez and De Castro, the ratings of the evening newscast plummeted to its lowest level. While TV Patrol suffers poor viewership, it directly affects the series next to its time slot. And of course that makes its rival programs exultingly jubilant.
