Poised for a more colorful career

Before embarking on a trip to the United States to join Piolo Pascual and Sam Milby as a support act in the Heartthrobs and Friends concert tour, Bea Alonzo faced the entertainment press and the media to express her delight for having a blooming career.

Fresh from the massive success of Miss You Like Crazy, a movie that reunited Bea’s box-office tandem with John Lloyd Cruz, she is pleased to inform her fans that she is set give life to another challenging role entrusted to her by Kapamilya network.

The twenty-two-year-old actress, who started her career in showbiz eight years ago, will headline an upcoming television series alongside Gretchen Barretto and Derek Ramsay. The series’ working title is Magkaribal.

Bea and Gretchen are attending an acting workshop together particularly to prepare for the series. The taping though is yet to begin in April since all of the main characters have to finish their respective previous engagements.

“I’ll be gone to join Piolo and Sam in the US . John Lloyd, Richard Poon, Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, and Pokwang are also part of it so I believe it’s going to be fun and great show. The truth is, this is one of the reasons why we have to postpone the taping for that [Till My Heartaches End],” the actress started.

She said that she would be gone for three weeks and had they started taping for the television series, it would be hard for them to resume because it is like starting again with a clean slate.

Apart from the taping schedule, Bea is ecstatic to work with Gretchen for the first time. She said that she feels more excited to work with La Greta because her impression of her has changed when they met and started attending acting workshops.

“When I learned that I’m going to do a project with her, I felt really nervous,” Bea confessed, “but when I realized that she’s a very nice person and she also watches my movies, I felt that I found a new friend in her.”

Reddening her lips

Beauty experts say that Bea is one of local tinseltown’s most beautiful faces. Although she does not normally compliment herself, Bea knows that celebrities face intense scrutiny every time they go out and face the public. She is aware that she needs to have a pleasing look because there would be somebody who is bound to take pictures of her and someone who is just there to comment on her appearance.

“It’s more of a choice for me to look good, I don’t consider it as a responsibility because I know that there are people who would notice or scrutinize the way I look when I go out in public,” Bea said last week during the launch of a lipstick line’s new collection.

The young actress joins Tupperware Brands Philippines’ roster of celebrity endorsers, which includes TV star Isabel Oli, actress and internationally acclaimed equestrienne Mikee Cojuangco and top model Georgina Wilson. With her newest role as Colour Collection’s newest face, Bea is excited to be given the opportunity to be a role model among today’s women.

“This is definitely a great chance to inspire women to look good and feel good and just be proud of themselves and what they’ve accomplished. Just like me, women will also love Colour Collection’s skin-caring benefits which beautify as well as effectively care for our skin,” Bea, whose beauty tricks are focused on living a balanced lifestyle and wearing the right makeup, explained.

She even asserted that Colour Collection products make her look and feel beautiful not just for a day.

“It takes care of your skin because it has vitamins and moisturizers,” she smiled and admitted that wearing just lipsticks can save her from observant eyes because she is naturally pale.

According to Perry Mogar, president of Tupperware Brands Philippines, Bea truly epitomizes the Colour Collection brand.

“Colour Collection has always been committed to bringing cosmetics to a higher level to meet the beauty needs of Filipinas. This commitment is clearly communicated this year as we launch our newest face, Bea Alonzo,” Mogar said.
