Binibining Pilipinas 2011 finalist Queennierich Rehman, a 23-year-old musician and basketball player, was crowned Miss World Philippines 2012 during the pageant’s coronation night held last Sunday, June 24. She received P1 million cash prize and a Hyundai car.
The Moroccan-Filipina beauty who graduated at Assumption College will represent the Philippines in the 2012 Miss World competition on August 18 in Inner Mongolia, China.
During the Q and A portion, the 5’9″ beauty queen was asked: “As an ambassador of the Philippines, what are the best features of your country that you can project to the world?”
“I believe that wherever you will go here in the Philippines, it’s not the islandsthat make us special but of course the Filipinos who have warm hospitality, who are having smiles on their faces, and of course who will treat all foreigners the love and respect, and hospitality that they can give to them. I believe that the Philippines is a country that we can be proud of,” Rehman answered.
Apart from winning the coveted crown, Rehman was also adjudged Best in Swimwear and Miss Photogenic. She walked home with three other special awards including Miss Pantene, Miss World Traveler and Miss Philippines Prudential.
