A new trailer for The Bourne Legacy, the fourth installment of the Bourne series, has been released, featuring The Avengers actor Jeremy Renner as the main character, Aaron Cross, a genetically modified agent and a product of CIA’s Operation Outcome.
Fans of the series were furios and surprised at the same time that the Bourne series was renewed with a new film sans its lead actor, Matt Damon, who played Jason Bourne in the first three movies. However, as the new trailer reveals, Jason Bourne will still be a part of the storyline, despite not being present. Damon’s Bourne appears in the trailer as part of a television newscast, as the character’s actions are a main instigator of the events of Bourne Legacy. Damon’s famous Bourne character makes a brief appearance in the flick – but only as a still photograph, which features in the promo.
The film picks up where The Bourne Ultimatum left off as an embarrassed government agency tries to get rid of all agents associated with Operation Treadstone – a top-secret training programme to turn operatives into lethal killing machines. Director Tony Gilroy – who directed the original trilogy – returns to guide new faces including Edward Norton and Rachel Weisz.
The previous three movies banked almost $1bn at the box office so this one is bound to pull in the punters. Here is the trailer of the latest Bourne installment featuring some scenes shot in Manila:
